Creative Play (Grades K-1)

Use imaginations to explore new and exciting parts of the world. Learn theatre games and acting exercises, free your creative spirit, and build a dynamic ensemble of actors

Creative Movement (Grades K-1)

Develop independence, cooperation, and communication in this energetic class. Songs, games, and dance emphasize imagination, coordination, and body awareness while teaching the elements of dance. For students in Kindergarten and First Grade

MON 5pm - 5:40pm

Discovery Theatre (Grades K-1)

Use imagination to explore new and exciting parts of the world. Learn theatre games and acting exercises, free your creative spirit, and build a dynamic ensemble of actors.

WED 2:40-3:20pm

$90

With minds, bodies, and voices engaged, Young Artists express themselves through story creation, music, creative movement, dramatic play, and art-making to enhance skills in theatre fundamentals, early literacy, communication, creative thinking, cooperation, active listening, and community building. On the last day of class, family & friends are invited to a sharing of creative drama exercises, original scenes, favorite songs, and artwork.

Learning Looks Like:

  • Developing self-expression through play, creative movement, and drama exploration

  • Engaging in guided group drama experiences

  • Exploring stories with creativity and performing art skills like pantomime, narration, movement, and crafting.

LULU THOMPSON (Creative Play | Discovery Theatre) 

Lulu Thompson is a director, actor & musician who has taught theatre classes in the north bay for over five years - to all ages, from kindergarteners to college students. In addition to after-school classes & summer camps, she is also a recurring guest teacher in Santa Rosa High School's ArtQuest theatre program.Informed by music & contemporary dance, Lulu focuses on helping students develop physicality, group movement & an ensemble-based creative process. As a devised-theatre artist, she facilitates classes in the creation of new plays - allowing each student to share their unique creative voice, while developing listening skills & group awareness.

GRACE KENT (Creative Movement)

Grace Kent is a dance and movement teacher for the youth and adults. She has taught workshops in aerial silks, dance and stage presence at different studios around Sonoma County and in Ashland OR where she received her Bachelors in Theater Arts at Southern Oregon University. She is thrilled to be joining the teaching program her credits include working on Elf the Musical with the Young Actors Studio.
